How do I apply for a Sri Lankan visa ?
In order to enter Sri Lanka, you need to purchase an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) visa before travelling there. Head over to the visa issuing website to nab yourself one. Don’t worry – it doesn’t take long at all!
This tourist visa gives you 30 days to explore the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Print off the visa, or you can show the immigration officer the visa on your phone at the airport.
You will need a visa to travel to Sri Lanka. You can apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) upon arrival at the port of entry, but to save time at the airport, you can decide to apply online prior to travel.
If you plan to stay in Sri Lanka for more than 30 days, you will need to obtain a regular Tourist Visa. You can apply for a visa at the nearest Sri Lankan Embassy or High Commission. To apply for a visa, you will need a valid passport, two recent passport-sized photographs, proof of financial resources, and proof of a return ticket. The processing time usually takes between three and four weeks.
An ETA will allow you to stay in Sri Lanka up to 30 days from the date of arrival, but an extension up to six months is possible. Please note that an ETA holder is entitled to enter Sri Lanka within three months from the date of issue of the ETA, so you can’t apply too far in advance of your flight.
